This is a continuous heart monitor which records the electrical activity of your heart over a period of several days. The monitor is used to detect and assess abnormal rhythm of your heart during your normal daily activities. If you experience symptoms such as palpitations or missed beats you will need to press a button on the machine and record any symptoms in the diary provided.
Our Practice Nurse will instruct you on how to use the monitor and remove it so you can have a shower or bath.
It is most important that you do not get the monitor wet and that it is returned at the specified time.
